Another good Cork O'Connor novel. I thought I had it figured out - and eventually did but there were enough twists to keep me guessing until the end. I enjoy this series.

Way too many paths in this book. It’s like Cork decides to ditch all his police training and just run in circles. Disappointing.

Great series. I like staying with the same core characters and seeing them develop as the years pass. I read this one instead of listening, and I missed the audio narration.

The fourth book in William Kent Krueger's Cork O’Connor series was quite good. From a character development perspective, I love watching Cork’s struggles with faith. I identify with them a lot. I also enjoyed a different side of Rose in this novel, and I’m interested to see where that goes in subsequent books.
From a plot perspective, I was nervous about the premise of this one. A suspect claims to see Jesus in the woods, changing the trajectory of the case. I was skeptical if I would find this plot as captivating as others in the series. It ended up turning out okay. Once the “whodunit” aspect of the novel picked up, I got into it more. I read the second half of this book in just over a day.
Krueger’s writing continues to be one of my modern day favorites. If you’re looking to dive into a good mystery series this fall, I highly recommend this one.
