Juvenile writing style turned me off, and didn't like how the girls get separated.

This was awesome! And incredibly gruesome. Absolute nightmare fuel - and I mean that in a good way?! It could 100% be a Call of Cthulu campaign :~)

DNF. I kept reading more, trying to give it a real chance. I couldn't get into it. I didn't care about the characters, and overall just felt bored and uninterested. Can't quite put my finger on what was so off about it though; the premise is so interesting but the story itself wasn't enjoyable.

7/10 | Enjoyable and intriguing, 'The Book of Living Secrets' by Madeleine Roux celebrates the strength of female friendship and the compelling power of stories. While not my favorite, it definitely has its merits and offers a unique literary adventure.

Struggled to get into it
Loved the style of a book inside a book. It was queer but not until like the last chapter other than a passing mention of asking if someone had a crush on someone but they didn’t even have a crush on them because the person in question was a huge jerk
