I was kinda bored at the beginning, felt like it was repeating a bit too much. Other than that great. I would also like an epilogue to see how the characters together develop.

A rom-com with Groundhog Day meets Ferris Beuhler's Day Off vibes.

Our protagonist, Emilie, wakes up on Valentine's Day excited to enact her checklisted plan for the perfect V-Day, only to crash her van into her partner in chem lab (who doesn't seem to even know who she is) , lose her summer journalism internship, discover her boyfriend kissing his ex, and find out her dad wants to take a new job and move to Texas. With her perfectly planned holiday gone up in flames, she calls it a day and hides in bed only to wake up to another February 14 again and again and again.

It's cute and fluffy, with all the Groundhog Day elements you'd expect and adorable rom-com moments in it. It also reminds me a bit of the book "Before I Fall" with the protagonist eventually throwing up her hands in frustration with repeat-town and doing all the crazy things that cross her mind without regard for the consequences ... because she'll wake up to a clean slate tomorrow, so why not? I somehow missed that this was a high school book when I picked it up ... and make no mistake, it's totally high school ... complete with mean girls, the stereotypical gay best friend, awkward bathroom moments, mental GPA comparisons. The high school setting didn't lessen the enjoyment of it, just caught me off guard in the first chapter, but once I reset my head around that, it was a fun read. It can be fun (and simultaneously somewhat painful) to remember how one looked at the world as a teenager. This would make a perfect teen romance for Netflix or Amazon to produce, along the lines of The Kissing Booth or The Summer I Turned Pretty.

On the clean reads scale, there is some cursing (including a few F-bombs) and instances of the protagonist talking about reading a sex scene in a book. So0000, while no Marvin Gaye (Let's Get it On) action is actually occurring in the book, it's not completely exempt from sexual undertones.

Will I read it again? Not sure about that, but it was a quick and cute read that didn't require too much brain power and led to a predictable and comforting HEA. 3.5 stars

Super cute love story. Her monologues during the groundhog day esque Valentines days were hilarious. I didn't necessarily like how completely unrealistic her immediate love for him was, but I have to set my standards low because she repeats the same day like 20 times so.... realism is out the door here.

Maybe Lynn Painter just isn’t for me??

don’t get me wrong, it’s nice and quite and I did enjoy myself while reading this book but it didn’t stick out for me? Fingers crossed I like her adult romance better 🤞🏽

Not bad a bit repetitive to start. But a cute little story.
