Celia Rivenbark is such fun. have a crappy day? pick up Celia and you will be laughing in no time. In this book, the letter from Midge to Barbie on her 50th birthday still has me giggling.

I love reading books by Southern humorists that are also liberals. It is THE best combination. If you haven't read Celia Rivenbark, START NOW.

After her last two books, I was worried I'd lost some of my Celia Rivenbark love. They were funny and lovely, but nowhere near what I'd come to expect from her.

She's truly back to form with this one. I read this at work, and couldn't stop smiling and laughing. I cannot emphasize enough how much I love this woman and her writing.

And I also really enjoyed leaving this book face up when I wasn't reading it, and waiting for the people's reactions.

I LOVE HER. She makes me snort when I read. But this one wasn't AS funny as her previous ones. Still worth an afternoon of fun, though.

I've enjoyed previous books by the author, so I thought this would be a fun read. Some chapters were downright funny, but others were painful. I think what really irritates me is that I'm sure the author is an intelligent woman, but she plays the dumb southern belle card. As an educated southern woman, I don't appreciate her reinforcement of a stereotype I struggle against.

This book was a good read for something I could pick up and put down and not have to worry about following a story line, which is ideal for balancing with my correspondence course reading. Some chapters were better than others...some made me laugh out loud, while others I just wanted to get through. The only thing about the book is that I find sometimes the author tries a little too hard with the wording she uses.

My favorite of Rivenbark's six books and more LOL moments than Tina Fey's "Bossypants." One of my favorite humor books I've read in years.

This book was fairly awful. There were a few shining moments but not enough to salvage it. I had high expectations, but really, she lacks the sass and humor I was hoping for. It wasn't as sarcastic and witty as the title and reviews depict, however I did finish it although it was a difficult to push through to say the least.
