took me months to read thisšŸ„²

I love the main plot but thereā€™s just too many stories in one book. Iā€™d rather for her to just focus on the main couple and the plot. But alas it was a fun read.

I doubt I'll ever rate a Cassie Clare book (except some of the Mortal Instruments) under 5 stars. I'm so attached to this characters and the Shadowhunter world. I'll read these until I'm 30 if I have to - and it seems like I might. I've been invested in their lives since I was 14 and I'll always always have a special place in my heart for these stories and these characters.

I missed them so much! This series is one of my faves and I loved this book! But I can't even tell you how frustrated I was while reading Grace's chapters... And I really don't like that bracelet-
Anyways, I love Mathew but that ending, NO. Also, Alastair you're too precious.

Enjoyed this book a lot. Probably my favorite Cassandra Clare, the way she developed this story was thought out and super interesting. At every moment I was looking forward to what was coming next.

This sequel was everything I wanted.. wholesome and action packed. Thomas saying ā€œare you like me?ā€ I internally screamed at that

letā€™s be real (for a second): does this book deserve 5 stars? nope. itā€™s probably somewhat closer to a 3 or 3.5 ā€” and all of that has to do with how overly ridiculous the plot keeps getting in this (overall) series. cassie went from an author whose stories i was obsessed with - in tmi and tid - to an author i couldnā€™t leave alone simply because i have too much invested in her/her characters. which is such a bitter reality to accept, for me, because iā€™ve spent so long with the shadowhunter world as my often lone solace.
i really do believe the plot tends to fall flat now because cassie keeps trying to override herself - which is something expected, obviously, but also something i wish more people would understand isnā€™t absolutely fatally necessary. itā€™s okay if you canā€™t do a more ā€œflashyā€ villain than sebastian, itā€™s okay if you canā€™t write a more ā€œmoralā€ evil than valentine, itā€™s okay if you canā€™t write a more ā€œshockingā€ turn of events than tessa turning into an angel. that doesnā€™t have to mean you need to keep writing books that get more and more flabbergasting- sometimes at the cost of the book itself. iā€™ve seen exactly this happen in tda before (i donā€™t wanna say qoaad but...qoaad) and now itā€™s happening all over again in tlh. lol

i will say, however, that tlh has one thing tda never did for me - and that is the characters. chain of iron felt more natural to me than chain of gold in more ways than one (maybe because i ran-read cog overnight, while coi has taken me (more than) the better half of a month? iā€™ve had exams, and then i fell sick, couldnā€™t read, and on and on...) ā€” it felt much easier to connect with the characters here, all of their depths and nuances, and iā€™m really really glad for it because it made me love jamescordelia, grace, lucie and matthew in a way that had felt half forced last year.
all of them, even jesse, have all of my heart and iā€™m really just

cassandra clare never misses with that time period, her writing became so good in comparison with the first ones.
this series is so addictive and everything about it is perfect !

the characters are incredible, they have flaws which allows us to relate somehow to themā€¦ I just wonder how will cc resolve everything of this mess, without hurting Cordelia, Matthew and Alastair please, in only one book
