This book took me by surprise, plunging me into a spicy world of debauchery and complex, multifaceted characters. Despite the paranormal world of demons and angels, things are far from black and white here, giving us a beautifully gray cast of characters to play with.

I loved being in Cam’s head. Aside from the fact that I was so excited to get some solid bisexual rep without it being a major plot point, he’s such a realistic portrayal of what I would imagine the sin of lust to be. He wants all the filthy, and when he starts to catch feelings it is a delicious spiral into self-awareness.

The spicy scenes in this book are delicious and delightful and blew me away with their poignancy. You’d imagine a book about the demon of lust to be non-stop meaningless steam, but every scene lends itself to Cam’s characterization while also fitting solidly into the storyline.

The twisties in this book I did not see coming, and it definitely kept me on my toes. I am so so excited for the rest of this series, and everything that Nicole is going to be offering this year. I can’t recommend this book enough for lovers of spicy paranormal romance.

Very lucky to have a copy of “The Devil You Know” in my hot little hands (excuse the pun!)

A demon, living in New York City, in The Hedonism Hotel – how apt is that? This book was full of the sex, drugs and rock and roll lifestyle, led by the demon of Lust, Cam, who leaves the Second Circle of Hell to run the hotel. Cam leave his lover, Lucifer (of course!) with a condition attached: he can explore and live in the world of mortal humans but he cannot give into temptation. At the same time, he is hunted in New York City by demon hunters who are disguised as NYPD officers, and falling for the one person he is not supposed to – Giselle, the night manager at The Hedonism Hotel.

Being thee demon of lust, Cam is easily distracted and get caught up in anything (or anyone) that seems to stir the passion within him; you can see why Lucifer wanted to keep him on a short string. There is not much actual chemistry between Cam and his love interests, purely lust and smut! It is a steamy rollercoaster of sorts, where we see the disconnected demon swoon when he meets his match in Giselle. And when I write swoon, I mean steaming, smouldery, sexy shenanigans!

The interplay between Luficer and Cam was an interesting angle and not one that I had really seem before, and although it was only a small part of this book, it was intriguing and I hope it unfolds more in the next books in this series.

WOWZA. YES. This book was a win for me from beginning to end. The Sin of Lust escapes to Earth in search of something to make him feel alive again. And boy does he find it in heaps and bounds! This book was fast-paced and funny and introspective. And hot as hell

I loved this book! I wasn’t sure how I’d feel with the book only from the MMCs POV but I really enjoyed it! Cam and Giselle are so meant to be and the ending

***ARC review***

I wanted to love this book so bad. I really did! Everything seemed completely up my alley, and nothing I am unfamiliar with. But unfortunately that was not the case. I can’t even pinpoint why, I just couldn’t get in to it. It took me so long to read because I could only read a couple of paragraphs at a time before I absentmindedly closed the kindle app on my phone. I think that was just a me problem tbh. I really had to force myself to finish it.
There was no real lead up to the couple falling in love for me. I felt that one second she meant barely anything and then literally BAM he’s head over heels desperately in love with her. I just didn’t feel the vibes between them.
I have given this two stars because I feel too bad to give one

Thanks to Booksirens and publishers for this eARC of The Devil You Know

The Devil You Know is an interesting sexy paranormal romance.

It follows Cam, the Sin of Lust, who's on the run from Hell and hiding from the demon-hunters who'd like him to return dead or alive. But Cam loves New York City and his hotel, Hedonism.

I loved the world building and set up of this story. The characters were great and well developed. I especially like Satin, the cat!
The writing with description made you feel part of the story and the main focus being on Cam and his desire for staying on Earth made it so we got to know him very well.
Gisele was also a great character and I felt that her story was definitely not second rate, she was as much as the story as Cam.

This novel gave me Lucifer (TV show) vibes, which in my opinion is a great thing. It had the sex appeal, the wittyness and overall it was fantastically written.

I can't wait for more in this series.

The Demon of Lust trading in Hell for a night club in New York, where all his fantasies roam free, just as love sneaks in through the cracks? Sounds deliciously sinful!

This was a quick and easy read with relatively low conflict and drama, making it perfect for those looking to dip their toes into the paranormal genre without sacrificing the heat of a whirlwind romance. I enjoyed seeing the role of Lust cast in the shadow of love, and the development of Cam’s character and self-awareness in this regard was well laid and portrayed. However, I do believe that the forbidden nature of what sparked between Cam and his night manager (forbidden in more ways than one

“A demon can’t love.”

Living in Hell is getting monotonous for Cam, the demon of Lust, so he decides to escape to Earth. He does so successfully, setting up Hotel Hedonism, with the help of his ace night manager, Giselle. As the demon of Lust, Cam still has ‘itches’ that he needs to scratch due to his position and a rotating door of those willing to help. All is going well until Cam realizes he’s caught feelings for Giselle, something he thought wasn’t possible. All the sudden, things get complicated…

This is a great, quick read with plenty of spice and a likeable MC in Cam. There’s more depth to Cam than one might expect given his position. His self-deprecating humor, ability to see auras, not to mention his ability to truly feel emotions endears him to the reader. I was also quite fond of Axel, who I hope we get to run into again in future books in this series!

I recommend this read if you’re looking for a quick paranormal romance read with demons, plenty of steam, and a couple unexpected twists!

Special thanks to BookSirens and the author for the ARC. All thoughts in this review are honest and my own.

This is not my typical genre but I enjoyed trying something different. It was a quick read with little conflict/drama which made it easier for someone like me who is just starting with these kinds of books. There's a lot more "important" things to focus on. Lol! Like the nice amount of spicy romance happening throughout the book! I liked Cam for the most part and liked seeing his development throughout the story but didn't really care for Giselle. I feel like we never actually saw her personality and were just told how she is supposed to be and because of that I had no connection to her character. I like that this was told from the MMC's perspective, I found that to be a different take that worked well in this case. I liked the general concept of the book, like otherworldly beings on earth, but wish it was executed differently. I did struggle a bit at the beginning of the book because things felt very repetitive but it seemed to sort itself out, for the most part, by the end. The final chapters were what you would hope for in a romance like this. I am very excited to pick up book 2 in the Hotel Heat series! Thank you to Nicole Northwood and BookSirens for providing me with an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.
