Good, good. I liked the king with a tail. There were tropes i really love in here. Good, good.

Loved! Definitely the definition of slow burn as far as mates goes lol and a tad too long, but overall it was great! Filled with “who done it” feels and so much angst. And I mean, a tail that’s fully capable never hurt nobody lol.

Flash tattoos, suits of armor, and political intrigue, oh my! All to advance and supporting an outrageously endearing romance? With the spiciest of spice?

Read it to believe it

We love a broody emo king.

There must be crack in this series because it's so damn addictive. If you thought Theo was broody, Sikthand takes brooding and paranoia to a whole new level. He has his reasons
(someone tried to assassinate him before by tricking him into thinking that they were his mate, permanently tarnishing his trust)
but even when he's kind of a dick about it, I still adore him. He stalks her through the tunnels and watches her through the two way mirror because he just can't stay away, even when he knows he should. Sophia isn't soft and sweet, she's smart and kind but she'll also stand up for herself in a way that is still respectful but firm. They work so well together.
Even when his eyes change she doesn't tell him for fear of triggering his previous trauma so she waits until his marks appear to tell him she's his mate. This means they say admit their feelings and say "I love you" before he knows because his marks don't appear until the last chapter.
This is a lot more political leaning than the other books in the series but I can't wait so see where the story goes from here.
