The smut was good and the plot was okay.
I almost dnf'ed it in the first few chapters but I persevered through pure stubbornness.

When Cherry is sent by her coworkers to scope out the handsome man who’s appeared in their office building, she certainly isn’t expecting a Scandinavian prince (although, she only comes to know this later, and it’s a rude awakening).  Whip-smart and gorgeous, Cherry is a fat Black British woman with a tight-knit family and a dead-end job.  She immediately captures the attention of Ruben, a bisexual Dane scarred from childhood abuse and a recent betrayal-turned-scandal.  Fast forward to an alleyway tryst broken up by paparazzi, and Cherry finds herself in a fake engagement with a non-disclosure agreement.  This whirlwind romance has an enemies-to-lovers, forced-proximity feel and features light domination play—these faux fiancĂ©s have to fall in love and save the day somehow!  The audiobook is a lot of fun with accents galore.

This story is spicy! I've read the author's newer works and I think those books are better but this series was a nice way to pass a few hours. The best thing about this book is probably the sex scenes (which were a bit cringey) and a bit of the humor from the leading lady but there felt like something was missing with the foundation of the relationship. I can't believe in saying this but it would've been nice to have more relationship development scenes and less horny scenes! Some kind of balance would've been nice. The subplot about domestic and child abuse with the male MC's horrible brother felt unnecessary. And the motive behind why Cherry agreed to the whole false engagement scheme felt weak. I wish her stakes had been more directly personal and not for the sake of her sister. Like I said, l think the author has better books (The Brown Sisters trilogy) that show her growth as a writer, but this one isn't bad but is kinda forgettable.

Also I wouldn't recommend the audiobook version.

I'm a big fan of Talia Hibbert's books, but I love some more than others. I found the development of the romantic relationships lacking, and would have liked to see more depth from the female lead as well. In addition, the pacing of the book was off, with a number of plot points condensed at the end of the book. Definitely steamy with a number of open door scenes.
