I really didn't think I would enjoy this book as much as I did. This was so interesting and well-written that I was hooked despite my apathy about video games. I tend to read alot of books that are written for female-audiences, but this book struck me as the type that both men and women would enjoy. The plot got really heavy at moments, but it was very well-done.

Sad and sweet. Characters were charming, imperfect, forgivable. (Except for Marx, who was perfect.) Loved it.

I just don't know what to make of this.
It was okay, but it kind of dragged on. I didnt find many of the characters really likeable, which wasn't the Intention I think. However it still was a touching story and parts of the writing was nice. All in all it felt a bit mundane tho. I don't think this story will stay with me

I loved the author’s writing style! The characters were interesting and their character arcs were beautifully written.

Libro molto scorrevole e gentile.
Un romanzo che tratta di amore e amicizia, di gioie e dolori, di successi e di insuccessi.
Per gli amanti dei videogiochi è una storia interessante e ben congeniata, per tutti gli altri pure.

This was astonishingly good, and I don’t even like videogames. The joy of this is in the story of friendship, collaboration, and friction between the three principals. The best bits are when we get backstories of their childhoods—details which inform the plot later. However, at the approach of the final third, I became frustrated with Sam’s romantic jealousies. Thankfully, his character is not rewarded for these feelings, and the end feels right. I enjoyed the literariness of this storytelling, the Shakespeare and the Dickinson. I wish I could play the games described in this book. I wish they really existed.

Haven’t been this immersed in a book in a long time. The character and world building is beautiful and inspires deep reflection on love, connection, grief, and so much more. Inspired to play more!
