It was a good book, but I have never thought about it.

This book is good, but it is hard to connect to.

2/10 - 9-year-old Bruno and his family are moving from Berlin because of father's job at Out-With. Bruno meets a boy in striped pyjamas on the other side of a fence.

This was a glorified story about world war two, which really missed the mark.
• Bruno and his sister are 9 and 12 but display the intellect of children significantly younger.
• Out-with is used as an English translation, while I don't speak German, I can't believe it would translate the same way.
• I can't believe a 9 or 12 year old wouldn't have any idea what's going on during one of the most significant moments in modern history. While they may not know details, the deliberate ignorance is eye-rolling.
• Bruno is a petulant brat! There's ethnic cleansing happening on the other side of the fence but he does nothing but complain. What an asshole.
