I'm going to give Ira Levin a little bit of credit and say that I agree with theorists who think that the ending is not just "it was all a dream!"--copout to end all copouts--but rather, Rosemary having her "forever-young" promise from Satan fulfilled in a hellish way. She gets to relive this all over and over--what is hell but that? Despite giving him that credit, it's just not a good book. It's very breezy and a quick read--nothing to delve into, really. Certainly not a sequel worthy of the first book.
Swing and a miss! I was fine with the ending (), but the overall construction of the story felt really sloppy when compared to Rosemary's Baby.
I wanted to love it! Just didn't work for me.

I'm going to assume that Satan was torturing Rosemary forever and ever and everI wanted to love it! Just didn't work for me.
Sequel to Rosemary's Baby is a completely different type of book and I assume this was (is?) the reason why many people are not liking it. Unlike first book that concentrated on the small number of people and spooky location this book is concentrated on Rosemary, the mother and Andy, the son (half human and you know, half.... devil, not unlike Hellboy but with ability to better blend in). Again this is not slasher novel, there are weird accidents and deaths but what we do have is very slowly brewing story (that reads exquisitely fast) where we follow Rosemary constantly in fear and asking herself "What if?" while aware that she cannot trust anyone because if she tells them what she knows she would end up in mental hospital in express manner.
Rosemary knows what her son is but she is still his mother and she tries very hard to keep her faith in him. And Andy is like every superhuman out there, quite capable and aware of his powers and on the surface he seems to try to actually help but can he be trusted().
Ending is a true twist (in more ways than one) but I would not agree that it is bad. For me it is in spirit of first novel - Rosemary gets to live through Groundhog Day of her own. She is selected by someone (something?) to participate in the looong chess game and she might be unwilling pawn.
Recommended to horror fans.

I do not even know what I just read. It.Was.Terrible. I find it hard to believe it was even written by the same person. And the last 3 pages? WTF.
Not worth your time. It started out refreshing, but after a while it was so hard to follow. Then the ending had a twist again. Too much blabering.
do you know how excited i got when i heard about a sequel to rosemarys baby?
and then levin went and gave us this book, with this ending.
words fail me, they really do.
again proof that people will publish anything if the name attached to it is right.
