It was really slow with Sera being captured by Kolis and once her and Ash are back together it's like JLA made up all of the missing sex scenes. I skimmed the last portion because of how MUCH damn sex they were having.

This could have been 200 pages shorter. It's sooooo slow and nothing really happens. Also, a lot of the same phrases are used over and over again. A decent editor could have made it so much better.

This book spent way too long in the first half hitting you over the head with Kolis and the angst only for all the pieces to unroll roughly as expected.

Review:
I finished this  and what a great way to start off where A Light in the Flame left off on a cliffhanger. The journey the characters are still going on, keeps me continuing on with the Blood and Ash/Flesh and Fire world and I cannot wait for the last book in this series to come our. It also continues to make me cry, laugh and feel anger at the main characters as well as the side characters actions, But like I said I love it so very much. Highly recommend both series if you want to either continue or start them.

This book is unlike the first two books in this series. It was difficult to read because the first half centers on sexual violence and abuse, but I think JLA tactfully represented the mental and physical impacts of it. I think this book is bridging the Blood and Ash series with this series, and I’m eager to see what unfolds next.

I took about all I could stomach and stoped at 65%, my friend filled me on on the very-not-worth-it remainder of the plot. This book is very different than the first two in the series.  What I read could have been condensed into a few chapters and then we could have moved on. Most chapters could be skipped and honestly, should have been edited out.  Jen really did us dirty with book 3, sadly I think I'm done with this series which is a bummer because I enjoyed the first two books.

I really liked this book but I also skipped half of Sera’s internal monologues, which felt like half the book sometimes. I def cried which I haven’t done since Kingdom of Ash. Part of me wants to give it 4* because the parts I loved I really loved, but there was also a lot of “when does this get good again”
