“HIM” 🏒🥅 The HIM series is incredible and made me love MM romances! Not to mention it’s co-written by the hockey romance geniuses Elle Kennedy and Sarina Bowen! HIM was my first MM audiobook that has the perfect narrators that truly bring the characters to life. I have listened to this entire series more than 5 times this year alone. If you want to try out MM romance books with gay and bisexuality, this series is the best to start with. You will fall in love with Wes and Jamie and their love!

I really, really enjoyed this one!
The first person POV worked really well here, and I actually even liked that it alternated between the two MCs. I really liked the hockey/sports aspect, and I thought both of the characters were really wonderfully characterized.
I also really liked the bi-visibility here. This wasn't the GFY trope where the guy is totally straight except for this one instance, and it wasn't like the guy suddenly realizes that he's been gay the whole time. I really liked that Jamie struggled a bit with coming to terms with his sexuality, and that he was very firmly bi.
I thought it was refreshing that
And the sex here was seriously hot. Seriously.

one of the MC's actually ends up deciding not to go into hockey. It worked not only to resolve the separation issue, but I also thought it felt realistic given the professional sports industry. And the sex here was seriously hot. Seriously.

Jacob Morgan and Teddy Hamilton narrating absolutely crushed this and elevated the story, without a doubt. Only thing that would have made it better was if it was duet naration.
This was a really sweet love story between Wes and Jamie. I liked both of them a lot. I especially like how they still kept their playfulness even during intimacy.
I enjoyed a few things about how their relationship progressed.
• I liked how Wes took the first step to reach out to Jamie bysending the cigar box at the hotel and then how when Wes interrupted Jamie and Holly, Jamie felt himself wanting to "choose" Wes instead .
• I loved how Wes apologized to Jamie. He was straight up, honest, owned his shit, and apologized at the start of the camp.
• I really liked the scene at the bar where Jamie gets jealous and when Wes calls him on it, he blurts out "he was all over you right in front of me" and that's where both of them are like "wait, what?" and then... it's Jamie who makes the first move to kiss Wes . Then, of course, how Wes just tried to give him space.
All the conflicts felt so believable (from them both getting upset and jealous because they were afraid to talk to each other/worried about making the other feel pressured into something he didn't want , to the homophobic father of one of the campers outing them to their camp founder/boss , to Jamie's personal uncertainty about what he wants in his hockey career , to Wes' fears about having to be closeted for his rookie year in the NFL ). I also liked the way they were resolved too - especially Jamie deciding to choose the coaching job for himself but also lay all his cards on the table for Wes by saying "I love you", and then that allowing Wes to grab what he wanted with both hands and choose both Jamie and hockey .
I also liked that other than the asshole dad of the camper and Wes' parents, the side characters were all good, likeable, solid people (from Wes' good friend in college, to Holly, to the gay dude in the bar, to Jamie's family, to Pat). It was nice to have so much just general support in the side characters. All in all, a sweet and very sexy love story.

This is just a wonderful romantic story. I can't wait to read the next one!
Great story!
Although I wasn't sure I would enjoy this book because I thought I wouldn't relate well with all the hockey talk, the author does a great job making the story relatable and easily digestible.
I really enjoyed seeing how Wes and Jamie's relationship would turn out and really liked how the story was told from both POVs. I would recommend this book in a heartbeat and can't wait to read more by this author.
