I'm starting up my big Green Lantern read. Rebirth is the only volume that is a re-read for me. Everything else will be brand new. I'm stoked.

As far as Rebirth goes - well hell yeah I liked it! I mean - Jordan is back!

Also...fuck you Batman!

'Course you can't blame everyone for being skeptical!

Still - that last issue in this volume is freaking awesome! Kyle, John, Guy, Hal all giving Parallax the 'what-for!' Also, the Sinestro fight was pretty sweet too. I love Sinestro! Can't wait to keep reading and bump into him again!

Keep in mind I am reading these books without all the DC fanboy baggage or history. I'm not a regular DC comics guy - so I'm not at all particular with backstory imperfections or anything like that to weigh me down.

Just gonna have some fun and Rebirth is a helluva way to kick it all off!

This was my first GL comic series, and wow, what a high point to come in on. Go, Hal! Go, John! Go, Kyle! Go, Guy! Go, Oliver! (Come on, you knew an Green Arrow appearance was going to win points with me, didn't you?) And bonus points, for Batman being wrong. I do so love that ;)

Strains with all its being to make you feel emotions that do not exist.

Less interesting than it sounds.

I started reading Green Lantern with the 2011 DC reboot, I since back dated and restarted from this.

DCs Green Lantern Rebirth comic is a good place to start for anyone getting into the comic series, a lot of events have happened since this was release and I definitely recommended any new readers start from here.

I understand the Hal Jordan's redemption was a long anticipated event, and Rebirth was just as shiny and flashy as one might wish. But it failed to excite me, either about the characters or the universe. I am a new fan, so I made sure to read Secret Origin (and Wikipedia) before approaching this one, knowing that familiarity with the characters was necessary for the full impact. Either the homework I did wasn't enough, or maybe this is just not a story for me. In either case, I felt it was an abbreviated version of something I had little understanding of.
