probably my favorite book of all time. definitely in my top five. i almost made myself mad by reading other reviews on this site from people like "yeah, this book is /good/, but it's not /that/ good."
fools. an epic fantasy at 200 pages, with a real lesson, brilliant locations, and a fascinating worldview. ged's one of my favorite characters in fiction. when he weeps at the end of his quest, i'm right there with him. i could go on about this book for hours, but i'll wrap it up by saying this, it is insane that this is considered a children's book.

Le Guin demonstrates her uncanny ability to make each chapter of this book take up 3-10 pages each, but make each of them feel like novels of their own. Incredibly dense writing that feels easy to read. Makes me wish I had originally come to these books as a kid.

Phenomenal classic fantasy. The prose is absolutely beautiful, which combines wonderfully with the rich and vast world of Earthsea to create such a cosy and comforting book, despite the sometimes dark nature of the plot.
