Well, compared to other history textbooks, this was relaxing and quick. It was organized in a clear way, there was a lot of interesting information and it was so clean-cut. I really don't mind reading it at all, I'll look at it fondly as being a very cute and easy textbook that I'll always have if I ever need to re-learn my American history. ^,^ It's a bit sad, but there's a second book and I'm excited.

I thought it was a very well written textbook and even includes many stories that show snapshots of history, not just boring facts. The edition I was reading was published in 2017 and covered pretty much to the beginning of 2015 (it mentioned same sex marriage being legal in 37 states by the beginning of 2015, which confused me a bit as I wondered when was it legalized everywhere...but I looked it up and it was later in 2015 when it all was finished up). I was happy I got to read more modern history. I may have grown up with the gulf war and then wars in Iraq going on, but I never fully understood what was going on until this book helped explain it.
