DFWs only commencement speech put into a book. To be fair, I listened to the actual speech. It's extremely interesting in general, but it's his examples of "day in day out" living and thoughts on worship that resonated with me. Even as an self proclaimed atheist, DFW touches on some truly spiritual aspects of life that I don't think many believers even consider.
I really enjoyed this essay, which Wallace originally delivered as a commencement speech. He speaks honestly about the day-to-day challenges of "the real world" and gives thoughtful suggestions about surviving the struggles.
Quick read of a commencement speech. Takes 10 min. Focus on perspective and where you direct your attention in your day to day life. Glad to have read
