Kay's endings are stunning as always.
I was surprised to find myself crying near the end. There was a moment between brothers, separated by pride and arrogance, which turned, in the end, to realization and acceptance. As a younger brother, who would follow my older brother to the ends of the earth as well, it touched me in a way that I don't think another book ever has before. Brotherly love isn't something I see in books often, and that's a shame.

I think this was my favorite book since the summer a few years ago when I read Mistborn and The Name of the Wind. I absolutely adored it. He paints rich, conflicted characters, probing deeply into the effects of grief and other forms of emotional pain on different people and their responses. It is what brings forth many ideas and insights about the world. Blaise may be my favorite literary character, or he is at least close. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

DNF at 10%. I can recognize that this is a high quality book while also saying it's definitely not for me. Reads kind of like a history book with the multiple POVs and a descriptive style.
