I thought this was a very intriguing premise for a book. Until about half way through I didn't make any connections to what was happening and it was a little slow.
I figured out pretty early that this was some kind of prison system, but as for the actual murderer(s) this was a very tangled web.
Overall I thought it was a great read, especially for Agatha Christie book lovers.

Convoluted but not necessarily clever. The fat-shaming, oy! What happened to Phillip Sutcliffe discovered by Charles Cunningham to have the porcelain beak costume in his closet - no reaction whatsoever by Aiden when he meets Sutcliffe. A forgotten loose end?

What I found interesting I wish the author had elaborated more upon:-
- the influence of the host's personality, impulses and thought patterns upon the mind occupying the body
- the class differences especially the indignities suffered by the maids, stablehands, butlers etc.

The sinister atmosphere is well set up though the answer to this locked door murder mystery puzzle is not something one could have figured out from the clues provided.

This book was fascinating. Although it took me a little to understand, I really enjoyed it. The idea of waking up in 8 different bodies to solve the mystery is fascinating. There was a lot going on as the book progressed which made it difficult to understand at times, but I enjoyed seeing the different perspectives. I also enjoyed the reveals throughout the book as they kept it interesting even if they were slightly unexpected at times. Overall, the characters and storyline were really interesting. I would love to read this again for the first time, but I think it would be difficult to read it again, knowing how it ends.

The story itself is very unique. However, I was confused throughout most of it, which is why I gave it a lower rating. It was difficult keeping track of the different characters and their personalities. The concept was good though.

You’re going to need a full blown conspiracy board with thousands of post-it notes and red string to piece together every part of this multi-faceted mystery.

Aiden Bishop has one day- lived through eight host bodies- to solve the mystery of who killed Evelyn Hardcastle while also piecing together who he is, who he can trust, and what the Plague Doctor is really doing.

The pace really ramps up as Aiden moves through his different hosts and time starts running out. I can honestly say there is absolutely no way I would have been able to predict the real story of how everything went down. I can easily see myself reading this a second time to see if there’s any clues or hints that I missed the first time around.
