I'm a fan of Cori Cooper so of course I had to grab this one up! I love the story of Darby and how she's working so hard to try again with her restaurant. Along the way, Darby learns so much about herself and the drive she has to get things done. It was fun watching her evolve as a character and reading her story. Yes, there is a romance side to it, but I really enjoyed watching Darby "grow up" as the story progressed.

Darby's Cafe by Cori Cooper. I have really started to love this author and this book was no different. Its geared toward maybe young adult readers but I loved it as an older reader. It's the story of Darby who had her own restaurant but due to a food critic giving her a harsh review she lost her restaurant so with her tail between her legs she went back home to her small town of Hurricane. She begins to waitress at the local restaurant and slowly gets her mojo back. She doesn't have a lot of confidence at the beginning and when Myles a customer of the restaurant comes in daily, Darby develops a huge crush on him. She finally lets her friend talk her into posting a online personal ad. Hoping to connect with Myles because she sees he reads the personals all the time, will it work? While a guy does engage with her, how can she be sure its Myles. Such a cute, clean romance!

Darby's Café is another Young Adult Romance by Cori Cooper. This book centers around Darby, a waitress at a small-town café. Her friend puts in a personal ad for her in hopes of catching the eye of her crush, a regular at the cafe. Hilarity, uncertainty, and difficult life lessons ensue. The world building is pretty great; I could feel Darby's heartbreak regarding the closing of her restaurant, her confusion and anger, and I could see the confines of the cozy Corner Café in my mind. The characters are all realistically flawed, believable, and lovable. Although I was a little bothered by Darby's overwhelming pessimism, her behavior and thoughts did change towards the end of the book. Overall, Darby's Café is a sweet, humorous, clean romance full of food, drama, and laughs. I really want to know what happens next in Darby's story!

This book was an AMAZING book and I totally loved how the book is so whimsical and petty(in a good way..... you'll know what I mean when you read it😜🤭) the book is so well written that you'll hate whomsoever the author portrays as the bad guy it's her super-special talent and she's used her mastermind genius on this simple yet complicated character that the reader can't help but fall in love with.
Darby is such a complex character, she's lost everything and is trying to start over by taking business classes at the local Uni. All because of one Jackson Wilcox Darby has had to reduce herself to the role of a waitress in a small town! Her big dreams were shattered because of one man's power over words. Now her apartment is our of order because of peaky cockroaches and she has nowhere to go! Thank God she at least has a friend in this unknown town who decides to take her in but her temptation to whip up a batch of cookies and cupcakes or even ramen seems to grow because of the well stocked pantry at Kenya 's place.
Myles a hottie customer at the cafe has caught her fancy but she's never exchanged more words than to take orders but she's decided to go for it and they have a somewhat pleasant conversation but her crush on him grows. The newspaper has a special column for personal ads and Kenya has decided that Darby needs her own ad in the paper, but the plot thickens when she gets an actual response and Myles' response to it only makes her more infatuated with him.
But what happens when Jackson Wilcox opens the door to the cafe?!
How should a person respond to the man who had shattered her dreams with his criticism?
Come read a tale of drama and intricate relationships, found family and friends and a whole new perspective on personal ads 😜 The plot will definitely suck you into the book and the characters will make room for you to experience it through their eyes and the book will tug at your heart strings and make you fall in love with this amazingly beautiful book💙

I enjoyed reading this romance story. This book is by an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up. I enjoyed this author’s writing style that makes her characters pop off the pages. They are written with alot of romance and even some humor. This book is about Darby and how her life fell apart after a bad food review. She goes back to her hometown and tries to pick up the pieces. Will she be able to find the courage to try again with her restaurant? What does the cutie that comes in every morning for breakfast have to do with anything? I enjoyed her character and what she brought to the story. She is a strong, relatable character that is my favorite of the story. I enjoyed watching the growth of the characters which made the story easy and entertaining to read. This is an engaging, fast paced story that is hard to put down. This is a great story that you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book.

Cori Cooper books always suck me right in. The scene is laid out and you instantly feel connected. This book was exactly that.
I was in the restaurant with Darby, drooling over Myles, giggling with Kenya, scared of Gretta and very intrigued the entire way through.
When Kenya works up her plan to get Myles to notice Darby, it seems perfect, even though Darby is a little nervous. Then she starts talking to Cole in text and on the phone and boy does he seem perfect. Keeping the mystery, they are waiting to meet and not sharing first names, but all that does is make it to where they are truly getting to know one another.
Darby gets to know Gretta a bit more and understand her better, turns out they have a bit in common. Darby realizes the stresses that Gretta has running her own cafe, as Darby previously had a restaurant. Living with Kenya strengthens their friendship and gives Darby even more confidence. Talking to Cole reminders her of things she enjoyed before and ways to get back to doing those activities.
A wonderful book, that is a quick read sure to make you smile.
