This is a fabulous illustrated version of the classic time travel story. The pictures are very classic horror and add a lovely touch to the story. This would be a great first version of this story, and I'll be watching out for others in the series, as I'd love to see what illustrations they have.

I was given an ARC and chose to give an honest review.

I truly enjoy The Time Machine and always have, so when I found I might have the opportunity to read a "reimagined" version with modern illustrations, I was excited for the chance. My excitement was mostly misplaced. The edition I received included the full text of HG Wells masterpiece and did have illustrations. This is why I gave the three stars. The emphasized phrases (font 5 times or more larger than the rest of the text) made the pagination break oddly and did not always seem to emphasize important or illustrated portions of the text. The illustrations were serviceable, but they did little to add to the story and, since they did not maintain scale or style seemed to be just random filler.
TL/DR: Read the book, it is awesome. The illustrations in this edition are nothing to write home about.

A classic that stands the test of time for a reason.

Any science-fiction fan should read this tale – and then re-read it years later. I remember reading this as a teen and I’m very glad I revisited it as an adult. It was amazing to recall that this book was written in 1895 and yet feels like it could have been published yesterday.

The narration by Derek Jacobi was perfect. I felt I was sitting around the dining room table with the Time Traveler’s friends, listening to him recollect his journey and introduction to the Eloi, Morlocks, and dear, sweet Weena.

A timeless tale.

Illustrations lovely but unfortunately text alignment and issues with the file format made it hard to appreciate, but the time machine is one of my favourites, a shame the document wasn’t well developed before sending for reviews

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
