Brooke does it again. I read this whole series out of order, starting with book 3, then 4, then 1, then 0.5 and I'm aiming to read book 2 in January before book 5 comes out in February!

I just love this series. It doesn't matter whether we're following a Hollis sibling or just some who works on the ranch like in this one, I love it no matter what. Ayden and Laney's story was really sweet, felt a little rushed, but it obviously will, it's a novella. I'd of loved some more of their back story, but regardless, I loved it! Can't wait to read book 2 and 5 and then start on her new series.

“King and Queen of Homecoming.
The football star and the head cheerleader.
Childhood friends turned high school sweethearts.
We were the epitome of a Texas country song.”

Ayden and Laney are end game. Or so they thought until Ayden decided to leave Texas and move to Tennessee in secret to get away from his abusive father.
He begged Laney to come with him but she couldn’t leave her mother.

10 years. 10 years she tried to find him. He was too afraid his father would come after him.
And Laney was left alone. Pregnant.

This is a childhood sweethearts, second chance, surprise baby, spice, and a dash of suspense. It’s the start of a found family series.

Brooke Montgomery’s books always suck me in and I’m left finishing each book in one sitting.

Ayden and Laney have always loved eachother and that love never died. Once Laney finally found him, the romance was already set in stone and re-blossomed so something fierce. And now Ayden gets to be a father to his daughter.
I absolutely loved it.
I’m reading the series out of order, but I am familiar with all of the characters so I wasn’t confused at all. I am almost caught up with the entire series and can’t wait for the next book!

Come With me is a sweet and emotional second chance romance second chance romance that is a great set up to the Sugarland Creek series. There are a lot of twists and turns that play out for this secret baby romance that will have your heart aching and swooning at the same time. Snag this prequel up about Ayden and Laney before you start the series!

(Dual POVs)

I appreciated how the book doesn’t waste any time jumping into the thick of things. We don’t have to wait long for the reunion of Laney and Ayden, and it was a heartfelt reunion. They’re quickly able to air out their regrets and feelings from the past and make the most of their reunion.

I’m not gonna lie, this one was going too easily for me at first. It was extremely, extremely low angst, with the couple not having seen or spoken to each other in ten years, but reuniting without any hard feelings. No resentment, no anger, and they adjust pretty quickly to truth bombs being dropped.

BUT, I really liked the route the author took this book! The second half includes an aspect of suspense, as well as adding a sprinkle of morally gray to characters! Not something I was suspecting from this book but I was not mad! That coupled with the moves that Laney and Ayden make to finally be together really made this book for me.

This was a great prequel to start the series off with. The author did a good job in roping me in with interest about the side characters and I’m looking forward to seeing a lot more of this family and getting everyone’s story!

Favorite Quotes:
“I want nothin’ short of a lifetime with you.” -Ayden

“I’m not doin’ this if it happens, it happens shit. If I have a mission, I’m fuckin’ completin’ it. No guesswork.” -Ayden

“Men like Wilder don’t even know what an engagement ring is, so if that’s your plan to scare him off, you’re gonna need a picture book to explain when a woman’s off-limits to him,” -Waylon

I read this whole book in a southern accent! I didn't really know what I was getting into the first few chapters but after chapter 5 I was in. This was such a fun way to meet the Hollis family - from another perspective. I loved Laney and felt for her this whole book. I did think them getting back together was a bit fast. This made me feel all the feels, I am as happy that Ayden's Mum came back into his life. I'm a big fan of learning about the next book at the end of the first and it was fun to do it from Senna's point of view.

Both narrators did a great job bringing the characters to life.

Come with Me is a prequel novella to the Sugarland Creek series. It introduces the Hollis family, who own the ranch where Ayden, the MMC works.

Ayden and Laney were childhood friends and high school sweethearts. Ayden leaves their small town and Laney behind because he has to get away from his father. Now, he’s living in Tennessee, working on the Sugarland Creek family’s ranch.

Laney shows up one day, after years of trying to find him. And when they see each other again, it’s obvious the chemistry between them is still there. After all, he never wanted to leave her, and she never wanted him to go. But Laney has news – she was pregnant when he left and now has a nine year old child. Ayden is a little upset that she didn’t tell him, but he’s excited to get to know his daughter.

The thing that I don’t like in second chance romance is when one of the characters says they’re the love of their life, but then after the break up, they sleep around. And Ayden didn’t just sleep around, he was in a serious relationship. Laney was married, which made me upset, until it turned out to not be what I thought. And I guess Ayden didn’t think he would see Laney again, so he’s forgiven…a little.

Anyway, Ayden and Laney obviously never got over each other, and it was great seeing them reignite the chemistry between them. And Ayden’s growing relationship with his daughter was so cute! Ayden's father was a POS. There were some suspenseful moments and some funny moments. And there was also healing for both Ayden and Laney, but Ayden especially.
