WHAT. THE. HELL.

Amazing YA thriller, got me hooked right from the start. I loved the plot of the book, and the characters. Drew stood out to me the most because of how determined he was to find his girlfriend. I honestly kind of suspected the plot twist because of how
Lola and Madison's timelines didn't match up, but I thought they were the same person all along right up until the third quarter of the book
That still made it a very good read and
Ben Hooper's story is a twisted thing
The only reason this wasn't a 5 star read because of how unrealistic some of the scenes would be. But SUCH an awesome read for people who love thrillers and suspense.

I loved this book SO MUCH! I cried, I screamed, I squealed, and almost threw up. I also squeaked really loudly in the middle of the night when I read the part about
Ben Hooper's death
. I have suggested it to all of my friends, it was so good and I loved the twist at the end!!!

The ending was somewhat predictable, but it was still somehow a punch to the gut. Overall enjoyable!

This book was very mild as a thriller yet hard to take seriously as a YA book, so I don’t know where that leaves it.

It’s not bad - I was rooting for Lola to find a happy ending - but I thought that realistically, it was a bit weird that a bunch of teenagers were trying to investigate their friend’s disappearance and actually did a much better job than the professionals. I know they’re trying to make Roane as the bad guy but the fact that his character is very black or white without any character development is very YA of the author.

I was quite impressed by Wayne Boone’s motive for kidnapping and keeping those girls hostages (it sounded legit) but he felt very safe as a serial killer. There were no knife/gun/weapon use, no sexual assault, no nothing. Maybe I’ve read way too many gory thrillers but he was very mild compared to them and so I couldn’t take him seriously.

I also had some questions regarding Madison’s accident at the start of the story; was she really in a car accident and that’s where Wayne kidnapped her or did he cause it in the first place? I thought he grabbed her at her apartment mailbox? What happened to her car then?

The first chapter of this book had me thrilled! I didn’t know what to expect, but by the middle I was able to guess most of what happened. However, the final 20% of the book was so action-packed I couldn’t put it down! I will definitely be reading her other book, No Place Left to Hide at some point because I enjoyed her writing style.
