I thought the main characters, high school teens, were written so well and their dialogue was believable and actually cute, despite the overall dark subject matter that’s the main theme. These young people were written as mature, determined, and with age-appropriate ingenuity, but still tempered with the youthful attributes of impulsivity and some naivety. Without a doubt, Drew, Autumn, Max, and Mary are some of my favorite YA characters!
I listened to the audiobook and felt the narrators, Sophie Amoss and Robb Moreira, were superb in their delivery of the story being told from the perspective of the two main protagonists, as well as bringing to life the personalities of all the additional characters.

Drew's story took a bit to suck me in, but once he got his friends involved to go sleuthing, I was on board.
I listened to the audiobook, and both narrators did a great job. Can recommend this format for sure.
As others have said, don't look up anything. I thought I had it all figured out, but I was not ready.

To begin with, I must say that I was able to predict one of the plot twists early on. Specifically, I surmised that the man responsible for kidnapping and murdering young girls was doing so in an attempt to find a "replacement" for his deceased daughter. However, I was uncertain of how the author would incorporate the fate of his daughter into the story - whether she had passed away tragically or fallen ill and he was seeking out girls who resembled her. It took me some time to realize that the perspective of Madison, one of the protagonists, was not that of Lola, but rather of another girl who had been taken captive. I believe the author skillfully executed the plot twist and built up to the final reveal quite effectively. All in all, I found this story to be quite enjoyable and would be interested in reading more from Megan in the future.
