The story felt slow to progress. I enjoyed that the author didn't go with the obvious route when it got to the plot twist. Just wish it was a bit more entertaining, very interesting switching character perspective just felt like it was never the right time to move on. I think the story should have just ended after the reveal, continuing afterwards just felt kind of forced, like the author wasnt sure how to end so they took the story back to where it started and just had them talk their way into the end of the book.

It’s fine. This was just a bit childish for me, like I’m not the target audience at all. For what it’s worth, I wasn’t really expecting the big twist. That could have been from how uninvested I was though.

Unbelievably believable book. I devoured every page and was completely caught up in the story. I live in Oregon, and we have had our fair share of terrifying serial killers. The author absolutely nailed the tone and setting of the communities. (It helps that she's from Oregon herself.) The story is told from a dual POV and full of so many questions and moments of doubt on both sides that I didn't realize the truth
of the identity of the kidnapped girl
until it was revealed. I had plenty of theories, though! Fantastic book and incredible storytelling. Five stars!

.25 off because there is a difference between a good plot twist and betraying your audiences trust for shock value. However this author does toe the line by making it up after the fact with the ending

That’s Not My Name by Megan Lally

I didn’t think I would enjoy this as much as I did! I stayed up until 1am to finish it. Total page turner. Told in dual perspectives. The suspense was executed so well. I went into this one blindly and I’m glad I did. Fast paced. Engaging. Intense. Emotional. Captivating. Easy read. I did not guess the ending at all. In fact, I was very wrong. This is a book you can totally finish in one day.

Amazing debut from the author! 4 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
