~My Thoughts~
I haven't read a siren/mermaid story in a hot minute and this truly itched that scratch
As it's a short story, the pace is fast and you truly hit the ground running from the get go.
Kai gave me reluctant Milo Thatch from Atlantis vibes and I loved it! Evelyn was such a strong FMC, wanting more than her world offered her and striving to uncover the truth!
I do think the novella could have been a book, as I feel like everything was done so quickly that I didn't have time to really sit back and enjoy the characters or the world.
The romance was delicious but very insta love and by the end of the book it was almost nonexistent? Like once everything was resolved, the romance was not mentioned again which is odd considering Evelyn said she was in love with Kai (this was after one day)
