Slow. Repetitive. Reeked of “just try not being so sad!” There were some good essays in there to reference in the future, but that was certainly the minority. I’d say about 1/5 of the book was useful, 4/5 of the book was not.

This book can be helpful if you use it when you need it. And you can't use the whole book at once, either. When you get to a point in your life where a certain chapter can help you, then you should read it, and it seems more helpful, at least to me, if read completely out of order. Reading the book like a novel or regular self help book wasn't a good use of it, and it would make more sense to read just what I need.

This book didn't change the way I think, and it isn't a book of essays, which is a little misleading. It is a lot of thinking topics that you can use to be more introspective and a lot of the chapters only make sense if you are experiencing them. If you've already gone through it, it seems redundant or unnecessary to mention some things. There are also lots of repeating chapters that will make a list of topics in one chapter and a couple paragraphs in another, even while saying the same thing.

There were many noteworthy quotes in the book, though.

Any book that challenges you to grow via call out and call in is a good read.

If you’re after a book that’ll offer different perspectives on things like emotional intelligence and relationships, this isn’t a terrible choice. It offers these in short, digestible chunks and will (probably) make you reflect on the way you view things.

However, I quit after about 50%. Gets REALLY repetitive and I couldn’t buy into it 100% because of how clickbaity everything felt.
