Really amazing book!! I recommend it to all my friends. It really does help you shift your perspective and Wiest is such a good writer. 10/10 I will be rereading it throughout the year.

I think I blacked out this entire book.

(Read via audiobook)

The beginning had me stopping every 5 mins to write down the quotes that had me gooped and gagged, example:
“Nobody assumes they will die young. But that doesn’t mean they don’t.”

But after a while, the hard hitting bits began to repeat again and again, to a point where they became somewhat cliche and didn’t hit as much - by the midway point, I was able to gloss over a lot of the advice given.

Despite that shortcoming, this is a book that I think everyone needs to read - especially if you’re coming out of university and don’t know what direction your life is going.

It made me inwardly reflect on almost every aspect of my life - am I emotionally mature? Socially mature? Do I handle disagreements with toxicity or with levelheadedness? It also made me reflect on the relationships around me and the type of people I surround myself with.

It has given me the knowledge to somewhat prepare for worst-case scenarios, to understand my emotions and reactions better, and so many other things I will take with me throughout my life.

This is a book I see myself buying and keeping by my bedside table to look at again and again. Highly recommend to anyone who feels weird in life.
