This is the second comic I've read in the Rebirth series, and this is slightly better but I'm still not blown away. I'm not sure why they are adding all these ridiculous elements (not mentioning due to major spoilers). This one had more elements of a classic DC comic, and I did enjoy Black Canary and Huntress.

Honestly all I can say is that I just love Dinah Lance. Also either the artist got lazy through these few issues or they just forgot to always draw in her fishnets.

Though, I will say that I loved the interactions between Huntress, Batgirl and Dinah. They were probably some of my favorites in these issues. And I'm really excited to read the next few issues and see what our favorite girls get up to next time.

I think I might just not be a comic reader. The characters are okay, plot great, art amazing. But this took me way to long to finish. Couldn't hold my attention until the end.

Which was the saving grace for me. That ending brought this book up from a 3 stars to 4 stars for me.

As a fan of batgirl this version of her I loved, but didn't care for how her face was drawn half the time. Like the teeth were really distracting and pulled me out of the story a lot. Which is an odd problem to have with a story, but there it is.

If canary wasn't here carrying the story I probably would have dnfed for sure, but glad I didn't cause that ending was totally worth it. might even pick up the next one to see if the story keeps up this fun pacing now.

Nice re-team-up of the Birds of Prey with consistent Batgirl writing and good artwork that mirrors Babs Tarr's redesigns of Barbara and Dinah.

In all honesty I could not get around the continuity knot where Barbara was once Oracle yet does not know Black Canary or Huntress. God, I feel like the comic book guy.

If you've been enjoying Burnside era Batgirl, check this out, you may really dig it.

I had mixed feelings on this book. On the one hand, I enjoyed a lot of the pop culture references and the throw backs to some previous DC books that I've read (various Batgirl series', [b:Black Canary, Volume 1: Kicking and Screaming|25810137|Black Canary, Volume 1 Kicking and Screaming|Brenden Fletcher|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1456800724l/25810137._SY75_.jpg|45666183], [b:Grayson, Volume 1: Agents of Spyral|23505378|Grayson, Volume 1 Agents of Spyral|Tom King|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1440046679l/23505378._SY75_.jpg|43109801], and possibly some others). I liked Batgirl's costume from the last run of the New 52 and I'm glad to see it reprised here rather than going back to an older outfit or bringing in something new again. I also thought the relationships between Batgirl, Black Canary, and Huntress worked pretty well. Compared to the other Birds of Prey book that I've read (not the Gail Simone run), I think I actually liked this one better.

Compared to that, I didn't really dig the whole take on this new Oracle. It leads to some interesting plot points and certainly gives the three women a reason to work together. Overall, it just felt kind of meh to me though. The Huntress background was fine but nothing terribly exciting either. The most disappointing part for me was the art, especially at the beginning. Mostly it was okay. Some of the character faces just looked awful though. This got better as the volume went on though. Despite those things, I would be willing to give another volume a chance if it came up.

I like the idea of Barbara when I think about the things she’s done and overcome. But I don’t like the execution of her. I find her annoying. She says she’s super smart, but then she does the dumbest things.

I will also never understand why none of the heroes are willing to call anyone for help. Batman shows up, but she turns him away even though she could really use the help.

Also, I can’t keep track of all the different reboots. Does Commissioner Gordon know that Barbara is Batgirl at this point?

Almost outranking Batgirl for her obnoxiousness is Huntress. I didn’t like Helena in the Greyson series. I didn’t like her here.

The story wasn’t particularly memorable or surprising.
