Thanks to #Netgalley for making this book available to me.
I am so sad that I didn't read all the books in the series (although this is just a companion novel, I can't wait to read the first two books)
Here we follow the crown prince or really the king, as he has been acting the part of the King since his father decided to lock himself in his room and live him seclusion (we get to know that his father his depressed but I can really comprehend why because I didn't read the first two books, but other than that the story is perfection). Christian is just the perfect prince and he is insanely attracted to Mallory is sister's sister, Mallory. Okay might be strange but you have to read it to get the full gist.
Mallory is also attracted to Christian and one drunk night at a bar results in them doing the devil's tango the bathroom. Their relationship continues to build but she is dealing with something that would definitely not allow her to become his queen
I enjoyed it but there was no real peak in this book.

Tempting the Prince is the third book in the Sexy Misadventures of the Royals. I honestly think that reading this series in order makes the books better. It’s been a great series and I’m glad I found this author and got the opportunity to read them. The book was fast-paced and attention-grabbing. The characters were charming and realistic. The plot was fun and light. The witty banter was hilarious, and you couldn’t help but fall in love with the characters.

This was just okay for me. I had trouble getting into this one. It felt like most of the dialogue happened in the characters thoughts instead of between the H and h. Speaking of their thoughts, the constant "how difficult a relationship would be" got annoying after a while. I get that romance novels can have insta-love. I don't mind it if it's done right, but this one just didn't hit the mark for me. The main characters barely have any interaction and then after 4 whole weeks, Christian is willing to upend the whole country to be with Mallory? It was just hard to suspend belief to that extent. I usually love royal romances, but this one wasn't a favorite.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

Tempting the Prince is the third and final book in this series. This is my first reading from the author and although this is part of the series, I didn't have any problem following the story line. In that regards, this could be read as standalone but you could read the first two in this series for an in-depth understanding of this book world. This is a contemporary, royal romance with a tiny bit forbidden factor in it.

Mallory and Christian had an instant attraction and undeniable chemistry from the first moment they've met. Due to Christian's position as the crown prince, both have decided not to pursue their feelings for each other. For one night of just throwing caution in the wind and living in the moment, these two gave in. What followed was hot, sexy and sweet moments but as much as they wanted to be together, Christian must adhere to his duty as the prince and eventually, king. As far as royal romance goes, this is pretty much spot on (royal-commoner love affair) and the angst and drama that comes with it. This was a light, quick and entertaining read for me and will recommend for lovers of this trope/ genre.

A fun romance book. It was definitely a fast read. The characters were entertaining. I haven’t read any of the previous books in the series, but it looks like I will be trying to locate them. If you’re looking for a light read, and want an escape from reality, I would say check this one out. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 Stars i would say. This is the last booking in a trilogy however I've only read this one and managed just fine. There are references to the past books, but its not difficult to figure out what happened before. The past events are brought up often, like you might forget Mallory was shot at some point while reading this. It was a bit of a slow start for me to get into the book but once I was about 15% in, it moved quickly. There's not a lot of anything new here. I assure you, you can get the trajectory of this book. But still an enjoyable read.

Royal romances are always a little hit-and-miss for me. But Christi Barth's Tempting the Prince sounded like a fabulous premise. So, I jumped at the offer of an eARC when it became available and I'm really happy that I did. Although, I must say it did take me a couple of chapters to get into, only because this isn't quite the standalone story I expected, and there is a lot of interconnection to the previous books with certain characters and event's playing a big part in what happens, and that took time to understand. But once I was familiar with everything, I found this to be a really well written, flowing story. That had plenty of sexy times, great characters and moments that reminded me of Downton Abbey, and I loved that! And it certainly combined to make Tempting the Prince a genuine hit for me. Plus, it intrigued and entertained me, enough to want to read the two books I've missed out on.

Would happily recommend.

So... this was part of a series. I did not know that when I requested the book. But, it's ok. You don't have to read the previous two books to understand what's happening, although I assume that doing so would provide a lot more background and character information. Still, I managed to get through this one without issue. I think the author did a great job of filling in the reader on all that happened in the previous books without it being overwhelming or detracting from this novel.

Another thing the author did well was write in a plain way that was easy to follow. The characters were likable enough, although sometimes their dialogue made me question some things (but more on that later). The plot is fairly straight forward. As I previously mentioned, not having read the previous books didn't present a problem.

That said, I did have some issues with the novel.

My issue with the romance was that although the two characters had decent chemistry, they dated for a literal month. Four weeks! That's it. And they barely interacted before that! I just can't believe that they were in love to the point of going against all tradition and royal custom, willing to anger and alienate all the people that depend on them, for the sake of their relationship.

Another issue I had was with the small inconsistencies that were revealed through dialogue for the sake of a laugh or a cute moment. The one that comes to mind is the use of the word 'ghosted' in the book. Christian uses that word twice at the beginning of the novel, once to claim that his doctor  'ghosted' him (chapter 1), and again to say his father 'ghosted' him (chapter three), as they were both avoiding him. Several chapters after that, he and Mallory have a conversation in which she uses the word 'ghosted', and suddenly Christian doesn't know what that strange American colloquialism means and Mallory has to explain it to him (chapter six).

You can't have it both way! Either he knows things or he doesn't! And it happens more than once!

In general, the book was a quick read. I didn't get too invested in the characters, but it wasn't bad. I had several issues with it but I suppose it was overall, ok. I'm not interested in reading anything else in this series. Life is too short to be reading books that you think of as simply OK.

I was sooo excited to get reapproved/archived date changed for this book! When I was originally approved to this egalley I missed the archived date and didn't get a chance to read it, so Christian and Mallory and Moncriano where sitting it my head unfinished!! I really enjoyed diving back into this world and finally following these characters. Christi Barth did a great job of wrapping all the loose ends in the story and creating a wonderful ending for these characters! I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review!
