I read this book without any context. At the beginning, the writing style left me a bit "meh" - the lack of proper punctuation, i noticed, made it easier to skip words/lose track. But i digress. I got really into it, and then when Johannes starts talking about his "hallucination" of Erna, i was already very emotional, and then of course also at ghe end. It somehow conveys so much, with such "simple" words. It's a really good read.
