I really liked this book until the twist. After that it was just, all downhill into a sad puddle.

I really enjoyed this book until the paranormal piece threw me for a loop. I’m also still convinced Boone killed his wife.

** SPOILERS! **

Casey was a bit nosey for my taste but I guess it paid off. I got a bit confused with the jumping back and forth of the timeline. I also feel like the "good parts" didn't happen until the end of the book. There were some points while I was listening that was like, "Oh Sh*t!", or "get him!", so that's the cause of my three star rating.

Man, am I ever sorry I started this book. The first 2/3 was pretty entertaining and well written but then (and I'll do my best not to spoil the spoilers), it became preposterous and something entirely different than what I signed up for. So much so that I almost quit right then. Instead I just skipped a bunch of stuff and cut to the last few chapters to see how the author managed to justify the change. They didn't. This is my 2nd book by this author (Survive the Night) and both have been sub-par in my opinion. I think I'm done with Riley Sager until somebody convinces me otherwise.
