Stayed only vaguely interesting the entire time. Just boring.
I get it's a biography, but wayyyy too much detail. I don't need to know the name and history of the horse he took on a hike in New Mexico one summer... would really benefit from an abridged version

An interesting look into a complicated man and a time filled with uncertainty and fear. It certainly makes it harder to pass judgment on Oppenheimer knowing the totality of the situation.

Damn, it took me a long while to finish this but I'm proud of myself that I did. The authors deserve all the awards for the research and then writing and weaving it into a very compelling story. It felt like I knew Oppenheimer and his story as he came alive through the pages. It's so fascinating to read about Oppenheimer and the ripple effect he caused as he developed the atomic bomb. What a journey.
Started listening to the audiobook for this soon after seeing Oppenheimer. I adored that film, and am generally interested in history, and in science, so the book seemed right up my alley. I took my time getting through it, but I thoroughly enjoyed my listen. The movie was a thriller, and the book is not, but I was surprised at how "book-accurate" I felt the movie to be after listening to the book.

Very informative. A bit dry in places, but appropriate for the topic.
