Just WOW, (of course) even better than the movie. It gives a nice insight in how Opje grew up, got into physic and eventually became the director of the Manhattan Project. Compared to the movie it dives way deeper in his younger years, the years after making the atomic bomb , and how much of a skilled sailor he was. Another thing that isn't shown is how great of a mentor he was for his grad students. It's really sad to see how broken he was after his security clearing was stripped from which he never really recovered.

This book is well-researched and dives into Openheimer's life and how others close to him viewed him.
I had to quit after getting only a few hours into the audiobook. Too boring and tedious. Oppenheimer seemed like a spoiled rich kid.

An amazing biography of an amazing man....a patriot, a scientist, a philosopher. The world might not ever see a man like him again.
This book was an incredible portrait of a very layered man. I left it feeling sad that the world let him down despite him believing in it until the end. What a legacy he has left.
