Finally had the ability to get back to reading because the end of the quarter came and went.... (worst 3 months of school ever.)

I liked this one too. I haven't reached a point yet where I can 100% say a PJ book has made me go "Wow. Five stars!" However, I expect it soon. Loved the development.... will have to go buy the next ones though....

I dislike Percy less as the story moves along.

Every time I get to the part with Zoe, I cry. I would die for every single one of the huntresses and Artemis. That's all I gotta say. Also, Percy's fatal flaw being his loyalty. Break my heart, why don't you Rick!

I still think this one is my favorite in the series for many reasons, but mainly for the emphasis on Percy's growth as a hero, specifically in the context of Greek mythology. Percy has never been like other heroes, but he still looked up to them - he thinks that he must be like Heracles or Perseus or whoever else in order to be a "good hero." This is the book where he decides that no, he's going to be better than them instead.
