Five Feet Apart is a YA love story about two teens with Cystic Fibrosis who meet while hospitalized to deal with their symptoms. Stella and Will are pretty much opposites but they bond over their shared CF-experience. However, CF patients need to stay at least 6 feet away from each other so that they don't pass their bacteria between them. Despite this obstacle, Stella and Will fall in love...
This is definitely a story meant to tug at the heart strings and while it didn't end exactly how I expected it to, the ending was still satisfactory to me without being overly sappy. I recommend this book to fans of The Fault in our Stars.

I loved listening to the two narrators on audio. As expected, this was a touching, sweet and heart wrenching story that you can fly through. I wanted to tell all the people who watched me cry on the train that it was "just" a book, not a personal tragedy.

I read this book in preparation for the movie coming out this month, and it did not disappoint.
It is a heartbreak of a read; and brings light to a disease not commonly known.
Five Feet Apart follows Stella and Will, two teenagers who've been handed a short straw in life and have to deal with a crappy disease that makes living life to the fullest a little hard to accomplish. They're diverse characters but really end up melding well together; Stella being organized and controlling really gets Will's messy and scatterbrained characters' shit together. This book seems a little rushed to me but I think it really shows you how fast things can come and go especially when life isn't a guarantee. The fact that they can never touch and they feel this undeniable attraction and pull towards each other is a real killer to read. You are really rooting for these two throughout the whole book and realize that there is no easy solution to this problem.
I enjoyed this book opening my eyes to a disease that I seldom hear anything about and learning more about it along the way (Including googling some things in between chapters). I think authors using their books as a platform for issues that should be spread is admirable, and that's what Rachel was able to do with this book.
Whether you plan on seeing the movie this month or not I highly suggest picking this book up and giving it a try. It's a short read but totally worth it.

I quite enjoyed this book. The writing isn't fantastic, the book is simply written and so is the dialogue. However, I found myself getting really immersed by the characters. I even found myself getting emotional during certain scenes. The ending, in my opinion, was a bit disappointing but the story provides an interesting conundrum. I recommend it, 4/5.
