Trite and boring
Not as good as the Mackenzie books. I don’t think Manny as written can carry a story. I told myself the last Manny book was the last I’d read, but I gave this one a chance and was disappointed.
The characters are merely caricatures; the beats in the story just lack an 80s sitcom laugh track to be complete. There were a few moments in the book that were borderline racist too, which is very disappointing.
