This book is about the brutality of war… about surviving the unimaginable horrors and inhumanity of it all . It’s brutal, not an easy read but I’m glad I read it. I didn’t know anything about South Korea before reading this and realising this had occurred during my lifetime was a shock to me. Somewhat of a slow burn initially in that it was quite fragmented but I was thoroughly engrossed by the time I was half way through. 4.5 stars
