Things I absolutely loved about Gloves Off:

Alexei Volkov – enough said.

That crackling tension between him and Georgia.

A good old marriage of convenience.

The fact that they’re fooling absolutely no one.

The flowers. Honestly, the flowers nearly finished me.

This was another brilliant, addictive instalment in the Vancouver Storm series – packed with hockey players, delicious angst, hidden feelings, crossed wires, and all the wrong assumptions. Throw in some forced proximity, undeniable chemistry, and cameos from our favourite familiar faces, and it’s got everything you could ever want.

It’s no surprise that I loved this book. First off, it’s an enemies to lovers trope, which is always great. While also being a marriage of convenience, one of my favorite tropes. Overall, this book was a fun, lovable, and entertaining read. I love all of Stephanie Archer’s book and find it hard not to love her characters. My favorite part of this book was the character development seen in Alexei. The only drawback I found was the lack of small details in their developing relationship. For example, I would have loved more scenes talking about the immigration process and the interviews. As well I would have liked less smut scenes and more small intimate moments between the characters. Lastly, I wish there were more scenes between all of the hockey boys. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the book and would recommend.

This is THE enemies to lovers romance and I will hear no other opinions!

This book follows Alexei Volkov, a grumpy veteran hockey player who has been trying to avoid retirement for years and Georgia Greene, the hardworking sexy part time team doctor that wears heals to the rink and drives Alexei nuts. But what happens when they both need a marriage of convenience and they're left with no options but each other?

EEEKK what a perfect book! I read some other reviews that said the first half of the book was rough which I can understand. If you aren't used to a real enemies story Alexei seems mean but he has good reason. Both he and Georgia had true reasons to hate each other that they slowly worked through!!! Let's not forget that they also have a HUGE miscommunication trope as in Alexei never opened his mouth of perfect teeth (or not so perfect *wink*) to just talk to Georgia about his preconceived notions of her!

Alexei was a strong man with a lot of emotions and nowhere to put them. Once he had Georgia I felt like he started to understand how to name the things he felt and he could understand others better. When guiding Luca, Alexei just had to talk to Georgia and it was like BAM he could understand another perspective. And he needs that at MULTIPLE points in this book so they're the best pair because she puts that man in his place. Georgia is a badass woman and I love love loved her! She works at a hospital, finds the funding for important research, works for the hockey team, AND she's a girl's soccer coach! There was very little that she couldn't do and I was so happy for her to finally clear up Alexei's harsh words and then see him as a man who will provide and take care of her. She's literally running like a mile a minute and has big dreams to chase! She needs a MAN who will be there and take care of her at the end of the day. AND THAT IS ALEXEI!!!!

The banter was TOP notch and it was a medium burn with the best tension! There were so many more emotional points than I expected to come from this book and a twist at the end that had me CRYING!!! But we all know that Stephanie Archer is a living breathing goddess and she made the best ending that was fit for the both of them. Side note Luka Walker and Tate Ward are two of the best side characters in this book!

Thank you so much to Stephanie and her team for allowing me to read and review this ARC!!
