This was a really horrific story. The fact that she survived it all, inspiring, but what happened to her was really awful.
It was also pretty graphic and potentially very triggering to those who have suffered similarly.

Another heart-breaking memoir. This time however, the author has decided to go a slightly different way route and starts the book when she is admitted to a mental health facility. Her earlier story is interspersed with her current life in the facility and I found it worked well - Sophie is such a strong person, and luckily she had a group of really lovely and supportive friends and colleagues to help her out too.

Terrifying read.
The author is a really inspiring person and I admire her greatly. After all that she'd been through (which no one deserves), she managed to pull through it and stand tall. The amount of resilience is unbelievable. I felt deeply connected with her while reading through the biography and I literally couldn't put it down for long. I devoured the book in less than a day. It's scary and compelling and it makes you root for the author so so bad. I feel that she perfectly describes the sense of helplessness and hopelessness one is caught in in such circumstances; the denial/the love-hate relationship/stockholm syndrome.
It was a great read and I wish the author well.
