I thought this was going to end up being my new favorite series by Ms. Xuemei X and if it continues in the way it's going there will be no doubt. Loki may call Tess Bunny, but this bunny has some very sharp teeth. She is the perfect match for Loki's wolf. This story starts right where the first one ends and we are immediately thrust back into the Bride Trials. The heat kicks up a notch, the relationship between Loki and Tess also progresses and their bond becomes more than just lust, and the danger is still high. I couldn't put it down, even though I desperately wanted to take my time because the next book is still months away, but I have a hard time regretting it. It was too good to walk away from. Beautiful storytelling, fun and loveable characters, action and adventure, heat and passion, and the push-pull of the enemies to lovers relationship are part of the reasons I love everything Meg writes. The bonus of the super strong and independent female lead is why this one will be one I read over and over again.

quite confusing for a true Meg Xumei X fan
I am a huge fan of the author which is why I pushed through this book. She normally is very well written but struggles throughout this book. I’m not sure what happened, but if feels rushed, like the rough draft made it to print. I’m going to read the next book because I’m not a quitter but I’m really hoping it’s true to her abilities.

Kindle - good continuance story of an assassin who took a contract to kill the king of the underworld who ens up being her fates mate. Now she can’t kill him because abuse of the bond but will the blood contract be able to force her? Too many small books that could have easily been combined 2 together.
