Took a while to get there but ended up scaring the sh*t out of me. Was lured in by a

priest.

Giving this book to a friend because I'm a scaredy cat and will not be revisiting, despite a good twist ending.

4.5 stars- rounded up.

This was my first C.J Tudor and it won't be my last. It had a creepy, dark feeling throughout the whole book. We follow a Vicar and her daughter as they are placed in a new town and church. This was my first read that had a dark religious tone to it and I really enjoyed it. The only thing stopping it from being a 5 star review is that I figured out most of the twists relatively quickly- minus 1 big one. That said, the fact that there were so many twists and the overall sense of unease made this one of my favourite reads in recent memory.

Can't wait to check out more by this author!!

I read this for my book club. It’s not the kind of book I would choose to read, however, if you’re into these types of genres I can imagine it being a very likeable book. It’s filled with lots of twists and I’d say, a definite mix of thriller and horror. There’s plenty of characters to add to the mix of ‘who done what,’ and keep the readers on the edge of their seats.

The writing is done nicely and the story isn’t subject to loose ends, which I find is important, particularly to a thriller book. It’s concluded well.
