*Thank you #NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read 5 chapters of The Close-Up. This is my review of my own opinion*

Let me first just say the very first line made me fall in love with this book, even if it is the first 5 chapters. It leaves me wanting more, that I can't wait until the book is published so I can devour it in one day.

Naomi is such a lovely person, and I love her personality. Then there is Simon, who is sexy and talented, in more ways than one. They have so much chemistry, and I want to know the rest of their story.

I LOVED these first 5 chapters, they flowed nicely together, and it is a 5 out of 5 for me. Absolutely loved it.

Sarah Smith has a way at words that makes me want to go find some more books she has written.

Is it possible to fall in love with a book after reading only 5 chapters?

Not gonna lie I was hooked from the first line. I couldn't stop myself from swiping page after page. It was show stopping! The story line is  smooth and well written. It had correct pacing too. Naomi's personality really connected to me and I couldn’t help but like her quirkiness and clumsiness. Then there is Simon, the perfect husband material and you know what his occupation is? He is a relationship counselor like a very hot therapist. I loved the relationship between both of them and I can't wait to see how the end turns out.

'The Close-Up' by Sarah Smith left me with a happy post-read high. It's witty, touching and utterly romantic. I was cackling at some of Naomi's observations (like pressed juice deliveries being the rich people equivalent of store bought bouquets of flowers).
This is a novel where the male character is self evolved and teaches men how to work on themselves and to take the initiative in their relationsuips so the mental and emotional load that is always the burden carried by women alone. How refreshing! I just loved how Simon is supportive, funny, and makes Naomi communicate with him and not run away. Plus the steam between Simon and Naomi was off the charts. So many times in romance novels I feel the male love interest doesn't deserve the heroine, but not 'The Close-up'.

I really enjoyed The Close-Up! I went in with no idea what to expect and really just enjoyed going along for the ride. I was pleasantly surprised at how steamy and sex positive it was!

I also loved the aspects of Simon’s job as a relationship therapist. There were a few times I really wanted to yell at Naomi - but also realize without conflict there wouldn’t be much of a story.

Thank you to Carina Press and Netgalley for the free review copy!
