Beware, there's spoilers all up and through this b*tch. Read at your own risk!
While I did enjoy this book, it did feel empty to me. My true rating for this book is more like 3.5 stars but I decided to take pity on it by giving it 4 stars. By no means should people take that to mean their lives are going to change from reading this book, because it's definitely not life-changing.
I'm a huge sucker for the amnesia trope. However, this book didn't necessarily hit all of the markers of this trope that would have made me fall in love with it. There was little to no real tension or angst in this book. There was slightly mild angst in the very beginning of this book, but there wasn't much once Bennett moved back in with his ex-wife in very stereotypical fashion. There was no mystery. There was no desire to know what happened or why it happened. Everything was pretty direct and straightforward in terms of the story. The story was ... okay. Nothing to write home about, but simply okay.
I do feel as if Olivia should have given Bennett more of a difficult time than she did. Bennett loved his wife but he also ended up cheating on said wife. In true deus ex machina fashion, he forgets all of the tawdry, messy details of what led to the demise of his marriage. Olivia should have given Bennett her ass to kiss. Yes, I said it. Sure, he's hot. Sure, he's aroused by the mere sight of his gorgeous wife but we never truly got any real explanation as to why Bennett decided to cheat in the first place. Also, his willingness to drop his mistress so quickly meant that the readers weren't going to get a juicy story. A juicy story would have been his mistress refusing to give up so easily and deciding to give both of them blues, but she didn't do that. Which is a glaring signal that the mistress isn't much of an obstacle or threat as you would assume.
If I'm being honest, it seemed like all of the interesting bits happened before the book started. We weren't privy to any of the truly exciting parts of this story. We were told what happened but we weren't lucky enough to actually watch these events unfold, unfortunately. Olivia apparently had a backbone before the book started, which completely disappeared when we were introduced to her for some reason. The woman committed quite a few crimes out of rage after learning of the infidelity! Yet, we only heard about it and not in very great detail, I might add.The only person that seemed to have any sense of sanity was Olivia's best friend and they muzzled her early on, as well.
All in all, I'm typically not a fan of cheating/infidelity plots. At least cheating between the lead endgame couple, that is. Anything else is fair game for me, so the cheating part wasn't the issue here. The execution is the issue here, and the poor execution was a complete disservice to this story. I wouldn't revisit this one, but I'd probably recommend it. Sure, it's not very good but it would definitely entertain you for a few hours if you decide to read it anyway.

I loved this book. I consumed it! oh my gosh I loved it. From the moment I started it, I was sucked in. Livey and Clark are just everything!
This second chance romance follows Olivia and Bennett Clark. We come into their story right after Bennett has been in an accident and when he wakes up all he wants is to see Olivia and hold her hand, kiss her and just love up on his wife. Olivia on the other hand wants to do the exact opposite because what Bennett doesn't know, or should I say what he has forgotten is that they have been separated and at the end of a divorce for the past 6 months. Not only does Bennett not remember any of this, he doesn't remember anything that occurred in the past two years. All he remembers is that he is, or should I say was, happily married to his wife. But Bennett gets a rude awakening when he learns that not only are they 60 days away from their divorce being final but that the main reason for the divorce was due to Bennett cheating on Olivia. ( Since all this information is given to us in the first chapter I do not count this as a spoiler. But any other spoilers will be written under my spoiler warning. )
Not only did I love this book because it was an interracial relationship but also because Bennett is amazing. Cheating situation aside, this man LOVES his wife. He only has eyes for his wife and that is proven time and time again. His passion is incomparable. He is the type of man that you would truly want in a husband. I know what you're thinking, he cheated no one would want that. Just read the book and you will understand what I mean.
I cried a lot while reading this but in the best way possible. It was so good that I made it 30% in and I knew that it was a 5/5. Would highly recommend. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer. I wanted more!
Also, the audiobook is a little weird. Towards the middle of the audio it was going in and out and you could tell there were multiple recording sessions going on for this book. The sound did not match up.
*Spoilers below*
The fact that Bennett stayed with Amanda after he cheated the first time will always confuse me and piss me off. I don't think I could personally forgive him fully for that. It's just too much. But I do love Bennett with all my heart.

Now this is how you do a second chance romance!!!! The second act break up felt really forced and unnecessary though. Loved everything else.
Ok I’ve had this for a while but cheating storylines have to be handled in a certain way for me to suffer through it. One of my personal rules is there MUST BE GROVELING.
The storyline was good in the sense that he had a temporary excuse. That gave me some space to try to like the H. That being said there were faults in the storyline for me. Overall it wasn’t bad.

The smut was great but the rest was bleh. Cheating and miscarriage are the main topics and it has an HEA but not one that the MMC was deserving of. All of the men in this book were awful. The best characters is the FMC best friend. Don’t really recommend this book unless you just want to be angry the whole time.
