*1.5 stars* If you like slow and boring middle grade that reads like a fairy tale then you’ll love this. This book made me realize I don’t. Extremely boring. I dreaded every second of it. Only finished because it was for a readathon.

This book was unbelieveably fun. From amazing characters to beautifuk prose and lessons, I loved every bit of it. I listened to the audiobook and the reader was fabulous. It's definitely going to be one of my favorite books ever. So much so I'm buying it. Each character is very well thought out with clear ambitions and desires. They're all loveable. Definitely a must read for anyone who is a fan of Howl's Moving Castle. A lovely story and one I plan on rereading and rereading <3

One of the most beautiful books I've ever read. Every word counts, lovingly so. And Christina is a wonderful narrator. It is YA but anyone of any age will feel things reading it.

This is technically a YA book, but it's really an everybody book. It was an absolutely lovely story that managed to be unique while still feeling like a fairy tale. There were also extremely valuable lessons on tyranny, fear, power, and hope that are very relevant in a real-world context right alongside delightful magic and characters with depth and grit. Also, this was my second book with Christina Moore as a narrator, and she's just wonderful. Highly recommend!
