I thought this book was interesting enough to keep reading, but not interesting enough to compel me towards it daily. I found both Isaac's narration a bit stale, and Jonah's even worse. I stuck around mainly for Evangeline's, finding myself skimming Isaac and Jonah's chapters to hurry along to hers. Additionally, i found that the ending was alright and made the book feel complete, but then the epilogue was disorienting. Overall, not my favorite book, but not my least favorite either!

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book. At first glance, it seems like it might be a murder book with a twist. But you quickly realize it’s not that, it’s more. It’s a story about family and how, you choose your family, and sometimes you don’t choose the ones who share your blood. It’s about forgiveness and love. It’s about resilience and strength. It’s a great story about compassion and trust. I loved it.

DNF 1 hr 14 min out of this 13 hr audiobook. I am bored, having a hard time with the author switching back and forth from past and present without solid flashback breakers with multiple characters (perhaps an audiobook issue only) and then I saw the TW's this one had reading some other reviews and think it won't be for me.

It took a minute to build, but was worth the wait. I haven’t cried that hard at a book since Dumbedore died. (That was 16 years ago.)
Completely not what I was expecting and in a good wAy. I thought it was well written and offered suspense, wholesomeness, surprise and candid moments. Often didn’t go where I thought it would and I liked the flow and the different points of view.
