twisty suburban drama with high stakes but I found it hard to follow with so many ongoing plot lines. I preferred author’s other book The Push

welp! Ashley Audrain is officially a favorite author. after absolutely loving The Push and it becoming one of my favorite books ever, i was a bit nervous to jump into this one. miss Audrain didn’t disappoint!!!!!!!!! it kinda sucks that her books are often marketed as thrillers because they’re NOT. her books are mostly character studies with a hint of mystery in my opinion. one things for SURE is that Ashley Audrain knows how to craft a story that makes you want to keep reading and makes you think about your own morality/life. she definitely has complicated feelings about motherhood, that’s for sure

4.5 This might be more of a deterrent for marriage than those "Are we dating the same guy" Facebook pages! Life is hard. Marriages, friendships, parenting - all relationships are difficult and complex. Audrain really understands how to, in the most dramatic way possible, expose the grey in situations that at first glance might appear to be black and white. This one had a few too many loose ends for my taste, but I was fully engaged and not ready for it to end.
