The best thing about this book was finishing it. This is not my jam. Nobody is likable no redeeming qualities and a lot of sex and sexual innuendo. Unnecessary the whole book just made me itch.

DID NOT FINISH

DNF @ 6%. The harsh language and unflinching inner monologues are not for me.
dark mysterious tense

Characters were intentionally upsetting and not worked. They were either annoying, troublesome, or caused some eye rolls. There were a couple small yet unexpected twists I enjoyed.
dark mysterious tense slow-paced

Ashley Audrain can write about motherhood like no other: the challenges, the emotions, the thoughts that no mother wants to admit to. Objectively, this is a good book: dark, tense, twisted, with well developed characters. It's just that, having read The Push earlier this year, I can't shake the feeling that it's all a bit repetitive. I'd love to see the author write a book that doesn't revolve around parenthood for once.

Hooked me, again, AA.

I definitely feel like anyone should be self-responsible at all times for trigger warnings and this one has several

Grabbed my attention just like The Push, twisted and required my focus to keep up but not so much I fell out of interest.

I appreciated the multi-narrative chapters and how they all pulled together. Definitely wouldn’t mind a sequel to continue because the ending just wasn’t enough!
mysterious sad medium-paced

WOW WOW WOW.

one of the best suspense novels i’ve ever read. beautifully written and truly kept me guessing until the end. also… what an ending.

I am not ready for another sad motherhood story right now.

Interesting storytelling of mothers that all live on the same block and weaves through their perspectives as something tragic happens to one of the children. I felt this dragged on a bit at times without getting to interesting pieces of the book. TW in this book for miscarriage, suicidal ideations, affairs
