this novel tested just how far my “i support women’s wrongs” extends.
it was a strong descent into the madness of a truly obsessed and calculated woman and how she views her marriage, truly unlike anything i’ve ever read before. like a clementine, her taste for revenge was best described as sour, not seasonal, and was always neatly pre-packaged. and in the end, all i could say was they deserved one another.

I really disliked this book. The main character is obsessed with her husband and just constantly talks about her obsession. Everything is from her point of view and nothing really happens. Kept hold on for something but just couldn't do it anymore.

WTF did I just read? For a debut novel, it was impressive. This was my face the entire time while reading it 😧😳 No plot, just vibes. And by vibes I mean a look inside a horrifically insane woman’s mind who is chronically obsessed with her obscenely average husband for no apparent reason. Disturbingly fascinating read. 3.5 stars.

This book was exhausting because the main character is quite literally so obsessed with her husband that it has the tendency to make the reader feel sick. She puts him over everything, even their children. I thought it was so interesting reading her perspective and I simultaneously felt empathy for her and blind rage, which I think is a mark of good characterization. There's also a little surprise that took me OUT. But I can't really talk about that.

I had to read about 50% of the book before I was truly intrigued. Only reason I kept reading was because she is absolutely crazy. There is no plot to the story, just her explaining her thoughts. Although the ending was a major plot twist, it was kind of disappointing. Overall, not my cup of tea.

This book was weird for me. I'm not sure if I liked it but I couldn't put it down. And I finished it in one sitting. The ending though. lol. Wow. I guess one could say this is a genius debut.
