for me

This book was sooo good. The synopsis was a little confusing with what it actually was but I loved it. One of the best fake dating I’ve read. It was kind of short but it was definitely sweet. I would recommend this book. I could also see potentially reading this again in the future. 4/5

Magnolia believes in true love. But it is hard to believe it when she is dumped the day before her sister’s wedding. As the maid of honor, she has to have an escort. No exceptions. Her rescuer comes in the form of Hayden Davenport, who is sarcastic, cocky, and a self-proclaimed player. But after being stuck in an elevator with him, Maggie thinks she has found the perfect wedding date. Except Hayden hates weddings, until there is a kiss. Maggie needs a fake boyfriend and Hayden needs to prove that he has changed his playboy ways. All they need to do is remember that it is fake, easy enough, right?
This was super cute! I read it really quickly and thoroughly enjoyed it. Maggie was such a fun character. She was smart and kind. I liked her love of music and her dedication to the soup kitchen. I loved her relationship with her sister and mom. They were so sweet and supportive of each other, but they weren’t perfect. I also thought Hayden was so sweet! Even though he was a bit of a bad boy, they had an opposites-attract romance. It was very sweet to read. I loved their relationship honestly, even though it was supposed to be fake, it was so cute!
All of the supporting characters were also so fun! Constance especially was hilarious! I loved her drama and confidence. It was also so fun to have Hayden’s band mates in the story, they were also so funny! The characters are what make the story for me and Fauxmance had such amazing ones!
This is a YA romance that I would suggest for older teen readers. There are some innuendos and other content. I would definitely recommend it! It is sweet, swoony, and so much fun!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, I was not required to write a positive review.

I really enjoy Cookie O’Gorman books. They’re funny with loveable characters and a good storyline. Cookie knows how to write clean romance that is still swoon worthy.

Fauxmance did not disappoint. It was funny and quirky in all the right places. It pointed itself out when things were weird in the relationship and addressed it. I really enjoyed it. It was a fast read too. I think the only thing I felt missing was more Hayden/Maggie scenes. I would’ve liked to read fake practice dates.
I could see this book being an opener for more Cookie books set in this universe with the other band mates.

Wow I really liked this book! Another one of cookies books I finished in 2 days. I felt a rollercoaster of emotions. This book felt a little different from her other books; I don't know exactly how to describe it, but it felt super .. rom-com-y to me. The first half is pretty standard Cookie writing, they meet, enter in a fake relationship, act very cutesy and coupley and I think that's when it started to feel like a rom-com.A boy who got left at alter and therefore does not do serious relationships paired with a girl who loves weddings, need I say I more. I'm been trying to think why this book felt like a rom-com when I know even romance books are full of cliches but this might just be me but I thought romance books were little more realistic. Now that I'm thinking about it I thinks its because this book had certain cliches that I associate more with rom-coms as:
*A boy who got left at alter and therefore does not do serious relationships paired with a girl who loves weddings, need I say I more.
*The girl meeting the whole family at a wedding or event
*Magnolia meeting the the grandmother.
*The whole last part honestly, the last 3 chapters where they break up, the grandma and the bandmate come to talk to magnolia about how Hayden is suffering, especially the ending scene where Hayden apologizes and declares his love in the same place they met, the most rom-com cliche.
If I'm being honest none of the cliches bothered except (the elevator scene?, too cute) maybe the whole declaring love part. I think it was way too early for them to say they love each other, they met like what, 4 times? And while think they really cared about each other in the end, it was too early for them to love each othert.Care about each other deeply, not love.I think that's where the from com thing comes in,I would've let slide in a rom-com, because its more common. It makes even less sense in this book then in other of Cookis books. It made absolute sense with Becks and Sally had known each other their whole lives. Sadie and Colt.Heck, even Viola and Dare made more sense since they met literally every day in her car.But here they met like only what,4 times?I think itve would've better if the author let that slide,a simple 'I really like would've sufficed.
Other than that, I genuinely enjoyed the book! This was my favorite fake-relationship Cookie Gorman book. The story felt fresh and original and I liked combining the stuck-togrther trope (in the elevator) with the fake relationship. Magnolia and Hayden were likable and fleshed out more for those who only appeared once. I especially really liked Magnolia's character arc where she learnt to be more assertive of her feelings(especially to Sean!).It paid off when she admitted her feelings to Hayden.
Even with all its rom-com cliches, I still enjoyed reading this book
